Training

Rotherham Flyball Teams are pleased to announce there training venue as the Phoenix Sports & Social Club on Bawtry Road, Brinsworth, Rotherham. The Club house is open for the whole family where meals are served daily till 2pm. Training will commence here early October 2008. Training times are between the hours 12pm-4pm.  We will be  starting a new beginner's/starters program  for any newcomers we welcome all type of dogs,fancy having a go and would like to join our small and friendly club then you can contact us on andy@rotherhamflyballteams.co.uk or contact Andy 01709 828558 Mobile 07968 342705.

Training update

All the new starter's and there dogs have settled in very well and are doing complete runs in netting, they have also been introduced to the box and are coping very well

Nicola and her dog Jack,are both coping very well both handler and dog learning very quickly he has now mastered full runs in netting and has got a good turn coming Jack's 1st starter comp will be at Anglesey easter weekend, and then at Markfield in March.

Kath and her dog Monty, are doing extremley well completing full runs out of netting Monty will be running at Markfield starter comp at the end of March. he will proberly run at the next local show Drax.

Amanda and Finley, Finley has come on in leaps and bounds and has the makings of a very fast dog he has a brilliant turn of the box looking forward to seeing him race

Andrew and Barney, Barney was late in playing with a tennis ball he will bring the ball over the finish line then he drops it, doing full runs out of netting and he has a 4 paw turn on the box. He will be running at both Anglesey & Markfield starter comp's.

Samantha and Keston, Keston is our latest rescue dog not been with us that long and he is doing full runs in netting getting there with the box we have put extra training in with him in the evening and he has now caught up with the other starter dogs now, and he will also be running at Anglesey & Markfield.

These dogs are almost ready for competition, taken them out of netting and now are doing full completed runs on both lanes with other dogs running on opposite lane just need to work a little more with Jack and Barney 

RFT Young Pups 2nd week in training

Samantha and Spike, Spike has only been with us for a couple of weeks he also is a rescue dog at 9mts old this was his second training session and he now is doing full runs in netting and turning on the box

Janet and Cleo, Cleo is also 9mths old and doing full runs in netting not so sure about the box but she has the basic idea

Samantha and Charlie, Charlie is the litter brother to Cleo doing full runs in netting and has quite a nice turn coming on the box

Keston has now graduated into a flyball dog gaining his Flyball Dog Certificate for 200 pts on his first outing at Drax over the 1st May Bank Holiday Well done Samantha and Keston

 

RFT Young Pups Update

 

Spike has now moved onto full runs without the netting and wings also he has a nice turn on the box he is now waiting for his first starter competition when he is 12mths old

 

Cleo is still in netting gets distracted when other dogs running on next lane nearly there she has a beautiful turn on the box so a little more work to do with her on 2 lanes

 

Charlie is the same has his sister so some more work to do here but they both will be ready when they start in the starters with Spike

 

Buddy is new to the team this was his first training session and he did very well going over all 4 jumps in the netting  and was introduced to the box at the end of the training session has the makings of a flyball dog

 

Jack well what can I say Nicola was getting very stressed out with Jack has he was doing what a Springer would normally do so for Jack’s sake he is now under my wing at training only this was his 2nd training session with me now we have got him going up and down over the jumps again and turning lovely of the box, still in netting as he is not ready for anything else he still gets distracted but training him often at short intervals seems to be working for him

 

Finlay he is just biding his time until he is old enough to compete which will be the end of summer until then he his competing in starter competitions wherever possible

 

Monty also just waiting for his first competition which will be our own in July he has been ready for competition for a few weeks now and has been competing in starters wherever possible

 

Barney has now started competing on the Razors team and doing very well
