Well what can i say what a fantastic weekend Rotherham Rockets 1st time running in div 1 its a pity our main start dog Tri was out injured he missed out on some cracking racing. Ollie who became the start dog decided to bite Samantha as he went for hid tuggie (OUCH) soon got his starts down to 0.02 which is fantastic, McCauley ran really well this weekend we just off set the box 3" to bring him in over the jumps, all in all the team ran brilliant even though they where bottom seed they battled really hard. Best time of the day for them was 19.88 well done to Doncaster Bellestars on winning the division and a big well done to Barry & McCauley on gaining there Flyball dog cert for 200pts he got it on his 1st outing it takes some dogs a long time ask Amanda

The normal the five dogs ran this weekend We went into the competition in division 1 and 4th seed and ended up finishing a well respected 2nd with a time of 18.83 well done to all dogs and there handlers, there was a lot of close racing in the division and a lot of 5 legs lets keep up the good work. I think that they all ran really well considering that we had to quarantine the dogs due to KC for 5-6 weeks (since
Rotherham Runners
Floss / Lassie / Max / Bliss / Wednesday
They ran there socks of in all weather rain, sleet, sun and lots of wind. The team has really jelled together and all the dogs really enjoyed running. They were in division 3 top seeded and was racing a lot of teams that where a lot faster. Runners stayed on par with there seed time but was still not fast enough on the day and finished 5th with a best time of 21.41. I would like to say well done to Amanda and Bliss for running there first out door tournament which at one point we thought would never happen.
Rotherham Razors ( Starter Team )
Keston / Finlay / Barney / Jack
These starter dogs ran as a team for the first time and what a job they did. We had Keston out for the first time as first dog, ran brilliant well done to Sam for all the hard work you have put with him, Finley second dog ran brilliant again well done Amanda (safe to say he will be a rocket dog running 4.6 at 12mths old), Barney third dog and loopy Jack last. Nicola wasn’t looking forward to her first competition with Jack as he his a very hard dog to run being a Springer Spaniel had the hardest day of her life as this was her first ever tournament she had ran in and she and Jack looked like they had been doing flyball for a long time. So well done to th both of you. Jacks got a few problems still but we will soon sort them out. The time we had in mind for the dogs was around 24-25 seconds so we was over the moon when they ran 21.69 with lots of room on change overs.
Once again we had a great weekend well done to all team members and there dogs

Markfield Starter Tournament
30th March 2008
Keston / Finlay / Barney / Jack / Monty
This was there second outing in starters with an added extra Monty also this was Monty's first time running at a competition and it was safe to say that he didn't let the team down, ran excellent with good change overs he was running 3rd dog but on exiting the run he was coming out on the wrong side interfering with our 4th dog Jack so we changed his running place from 3rd dog to last dog to give Kath his handler a better chance to get him back and out on the correct side which worked very well so its a big well done to Kath and Monty. Jack was well focused on his 2nd time out looked like a true flyball dog well done to Nicola and Jack. Barney & Finlay sheared places running equal amount of legs both these are now ready for competition fingers crossed.Keston ran start dog and he also was very focused this weekend with a marked improvement from his last comp and did a sterling job on the starts well done Sam. Overall the team ran excellent gaining 2nd place in Alpha division with a best time of 21.17
Well done guys keep up the good work Andy (TM)
Drax Tournament Report
3rd / 4th / 5th May
Well what a weekend was had at Drax 3 days with 1 team racing each day so a relaxed weekend with time to watch others teams race and catch up on some gossip, there where lots of fun in the flyball ring with the dogs and also some fun with the handlers doing the the Kellington horse race with the proceeds going to the local Thornbury Animal Sanctuary and there is a video to prove it. The weather was fantastic for racing with all our teams doing well
Tri / Ollie / McCauley / Paddy / Champs
Rockets where out first on Saturday usual 5 dog combination all dogs running really well apart from Ollie who had several ball spitting sessions causing him to run again as 5th dog or gaining no time we had a practise session with after the competition had finished and we think we might have solved the problem by changing the ball to a squiggie fingers crossed. Paddy had a new handler this weekend as a trial he is not the easiest of dogs to run as he would do all the legs himself if he could so well done to Nicola on running him so well. Well done to all team members on gaining another new seed time of 18.41 and in gaining 2nd place in division 2
Floss / Lassie / Max / Bliss / Keston
Runners where out on Sunday we had a new recruit to this team Keston who was a rescue dog from Valgrays Border Collie rescue he has not been with us for long and what a star coming out of starters to competing in competition and gaining his Flyball dog certificate on his first outing, he was sharing a place trying different combinations he also did start dog with Samantha and getting near perfect starts every time and running a respectable 4.7 sec. over 7". Max also had a new handler this weekend as a trial Stefan ran Max very well with guidance from Samantha at first then he was left to run him himself and did a great job well done Stefan and all team members best time of the day was 21.30 and gaining 3rd place in division 5.
Barney / Finlay / Monty / Jack / Keston
Razors where out on the Monday this combination has run before and runs well, Jack started out well in the first race doing what he should do 2nd race that started well until the 4h leg when I stood on his paw (sorry Jack) ad that was then end of that so it was down to the other 4 to complete the job and that’s just what they did. Keston was trying different running place's just to see what the response was and he handled it really well Barney Finlay & Monty are all running well will go into sanctioned tournaments as they become 18mths old Jack needs some work but to be fair to him he has had to go basics a the previous owner hadn't done anything with him keep up the good work Nicola he will be running soon and that’s a promise (dad) Well done to all team members what a cracking job you all have done today best time of the day was 20.44 over 10" and on winning the division
Excellent weekend a big thank you to all team members on some cracking racing and brilliant change overs and a relaxing bank holiday weekend with some beers and snooker and a couple of games of darts.

Rotherham Rockets
Tri / Ollie / McCauley / Paddy / Champs
Well what can I say the weather was fantastic the shorts were on and the dogs didn't want to run come to think of it neither would I if I was wearing a fur coat but they did try, running in there usual division 2 seeded 4th this weekend. Usual 5 dog combination with Paddy & Champs sharing anchor dog .Ollie was on squiggles to start but decided to spit them as well so reverted back to normal balls and he was perfect so we need to try differant techniques in training, at the end of the day the team finished 4th in the division with a time of 19.03
Rotherham Runners
Floss / Lassie / Max / Bliss / Keston
We changed this team around slightly adding Keston to the line up for his second tournament after his performance last weekend at Drax hopefully on his way now gaining points trying him in different places to see how he reacted he ran well as 1st, 2nd , 3rd & last dog looked more comfortable as start dog getting some good start times. The Height dog Bliss has gone up to 8” now and copped well with the extra 1” slat in. The weather on Sunday was completely different to Saturday being cool and overcast which I would say was ideal racing conditions 1st & 2nd dog was sharing places this weekend all dogs running well, running in division 5 3rd seed with a seed time of 21.40 getting a new seed time of 21.15
Rotherham Razors (Starter Team)
Barney / Finlay / Shadow / Jack
A special thanks to Hazel for the loan of Jack & Shadow
Well done guys overall a good weekend lets keep up the good work Andy (TM)
When we arrived at Newark it looked like it was going to be water logged event as the heavens opened the road were you come into the show ground was under water. The grass was almost as long as bliss so we new we wasn't going to do any fast times. The dogs surprised us as the border collies wasn't really affected by the ground and kept around the time they normally run even in the little drizzle of rain but Bliss the
Tri / Ollie / McCauley / Cara
Well the Sunday was completely different to Saturday the weather reached 27c it was sun burning weather a little to hot for the dogs to be racing the changeovers couldn't get any better a lot of ummmm's and arrrrrrr's on the line by myself and Andy. Well done to Trevor for his first ever time racing with the Rotherham Rockets. We got a new seed time 18.40 and there was still room for a faster time. By the end of the day you could see all the dogs were tired and on last race Ollie decided he had enough and spat a few times. Overall the dogs when they have a little more time to gel will be an excellent team and a very fast team keep working on it.
We managed to run some of the starter dogs on both days and they are coming on in leaps and bounds. Barney and Finley both ran on Saturday and Sunday and they never looked like tiring and both ran excellent Barney was not even looking at the other lane and he's starting to look faster at every starter he does. Finley he's look really nippy and he's starting to control his turn and because of this he also looks like he's improved a lot. Monty looks like a dog with a lot of confidence and he looks like he is ready to be moved into one of the teams when he comes of age (not long now) his speed has improved and he looks like his owner (Kath) really happy. Buddy also ran his first ever starters with the Rotherham Team and we really enjoyed watching him flyball it was good fun he was happy and I know Tanya enjoys racing him so well done. I would also like to thank Alpha Dogs who also ran 2 dogs with us they both ran brilliant and will always be welcome to run with us if we have a starter team and it was such good atmosphere between the teams and so good to watch.

Sunday 15th June 2008
We opted to travel up to Barnard Castle on the Saturday morning arriving at the venue about 10.30 set up camp and managed to watch some of the racing, after racing had finished the tournament host’s the Tees Valley Transporters ran a singles and pairs competition with a twist you submitted a time for your dog and the closest dog to the time won. The
The first 4 dogs ran most of the days racing with Keston running a couple of legs to gain some experience and he ran exceptionally well, all the other dogs did a brilliant job and gaining another new seed time of 18.40 and gaining 5th place in division1
This team is getting stronger every time they race Keep up the good work
Max / Wednesday / Bliss / Champs / Paddy
This was the first time this team had run and it was running with a submitted time and the combination ran quite well Sam running Max as start dog getting her starts to near perfect when she found her mark, two of our young handlers did a brilliant job Shannon is coming up 11 years old and her sister Sophie who is 9 years old and this was her first time running a dog in competition with guidance from her dad Ryan and Amanda running Champs as anchor dog, having some good racing best time of the day for them was 23.09 and winning division 4, WELL DONE on a brilliant job
Barney / Finlay / Spike / Charlie / Cleo / Buddy
Two of our starter dogs are now intermediate dogs and are just waiting to come of age to race Barney will be racing in competition at the end of June and Finlay will be in October this year, Buddy has only just joined the team and will be allocated to a team in the near future Spike, Charlie & Cleo are just 12 months old and this was there first starter competition and they ran all the legs with the others filling in on the final place finishing a well deserved 2nd place with a time of 20.37 well done to all team members it was a excellent team effort from all of us
Andy (TM)
Doncaster is one of our local tournament and it is set in a country park plenty of camping area and good exercise area for our dogs we opted to run three of our teams here Rockets, Runners and our kids team the Runaways and our starter team.
Runaways is the team which our young handlers run there dogs this was the second time out for them and raced very well, these youngsters are gelling very well as a team and will get stronger every time they run Sam who runs the start dog Jasper got his starts down to near perfect, Jamie runs the second Dice and nailed his changeovers every time Sophie ran Paddy this week Paddy is not the best dog to run as he turns to go again if half way back down the run back area but she did well with help from Samantha and Shannon took up the rear with Champs and I must say I think he runs better for Shannon then he does for Amanda overall team did very well gaining second place in division 6 with the best time of 20.50 Well done kids keep up the good work Andy (TM)
Runners also ran on Saturday team ran well first half of the division but the weather turned in the afternoon and poor little Bliss doesn’t like getting her paws wet, team didn’t do as well as expected running slower than usual finishing at the bottom of division 7 with there best time of 21.69.
Sunday was the day we had a special guest star in the name of Carol Thatcher doing a TV program for the BBC also running a dog with the host team
Rockets came out on the Sunday and what can I say they where on fire running all three legs in the morning session bettering there seed time twice in the first race getting a new seed time of 18.14 the ever growing 17 second bracket is getting closer it was looking good for a good result but half way through the starter division the weather turned and it was time to grab hold of gazebos and awnings as the winds got up to gale force so the wise decision was made to cancel the rest of the days racing as a team we lost two awnings at the end of the day the Rockets came away with second place in division two with there new seed time of 18.14 well done to Doncaster in winning the division with the best time of 18.06
Well done team excellent weekend’s racing looking forward to the next tournament at Howden

Alpha Dogz Howden Tournament
29th 30th June
The kids ran great again they started off running and winning there first 2 races the kids changeovers was so close there was a lot of looking at the lights to see if the red light was going to come on. Sam was getting the start times down to rolling starts it was just a shame that jasper got spooked by a jump falling over in front of him which put him off for the rest of the day. The kids still ran well and managed to still get a time off 20.43. I could see they fully enjoyed racing there dogs well done and better look next time.
We had a few dogs injured so we had to play around with this team. The team worked and ran another great division finishing 2nd with 20.45 it was good racing all the way it went down to the last race to see who would win the division. The runners have improved there seed time and ran about a second faster which is hot on the tail of the kids so kids watch out. I was really pleased how they ran and it was great to watch they also gained a few good points from the days racing. Well done to everyone good racing.
The Rockets turned out 6th in the division not expecting to do anything just to enjoy them selves but I think the dogs had other ideas. On the first leg they ran faster than there seed time and got a new seed time of 18.20 I could see from the line the changeovers where very tight and the dogs where getting faster, the team was running better than we have ever seen, showing no signs of slowing down. They normally run about 18.70 for average for the day but this day they ran an average off 18.27 for the whole day with the slowest time of the day being 18.50. The changeovers were perfect with no room for errors. They did so well they also got there fastest time ever and got 17.99 and finally got under 18 seconds. If I was to name a man of the match as to speak it would go to Barry & McCauley Well done to all the handlers and all the dogs congratulations on winning division 1 you have been so close in the past with a few 2nd places you didn’t have it easy with some very very close racing just as flyball should be.

Wow, what a weekend. Thursday evening came and it was time to set up our team camp, dogs exercised, and then a couple of beers with some fish & chips for tea. Whilst having our tea we discussed where the arena was going to be sited, with the weather being forecasted as diabolical we decided to put the arena at the side of some very high trees to protect us from the forecasted high winds. Friday morning was an early start. After exercising the dogs and eating breakfast it was time to start.
Three of us started to mark out the arena as this venture was a new to us, and the rest of the team built up the gazebo’s. We were covering all the racing lanes and the box end as the weather forecast was not very good. We were fortunate to get all marked out and gazebo’s in place just in time for the heavens opening and the heaving rain was with us for the rest of the day and into the night.
Saturday morning came, 5 am and it was still raining I wasn’t looking forward to getting up and putting the finishing touches to the ring, then the rain stopped. Our venue is a very well drained sports complex and within an hour you wouldn’t have known it had been raining quite heavy most of the night. Dog measuring came and went then it was 8.30 am. On the dot racing commenced all five divisions ran very well, we had two of our teams running on Saturday, Razors (first time out for this team) and the kids team the Runaways with all divisions finishing at 6pm.
We moved the lanes across that evening just before presentation and secured all the gazebos for the next day’s racing. Sunday came and the weather was much better, racing started at 8.30 am again running four divisions with our top team the Rockets running top seed in division two. All in all the weekend went very well two days of excellent racing and some very fast times.
Saturday Div 9 winners Sheffield Scurriers 22.95
Div 6 winners Doncaster Artic Stars 20.96
Div 5 winners Rotherham Runaways 20.14
